Penile traction therapy is a form of physical therapy that is used to treat a short or a curved penis. The goal is to restore the original shape or to make it longer. Now as a man, you probably have so many questions, especially after I mentioned curved. Just to clear the air, it is important to note that having a curved penis in some cases is perfectly normal.

Penile Curvature

Some people will have a penis that is slightly curved either to the left or to the right. When there is no form of pain or discomfort, you are perfectly okay. However, if by any chance you start to experience any form of pain then you have every reason to seek help immediately. The good news is that the problem that is guaranteed to cause you a lot of pain has a solution to it. A great percentage of men have penile deformity and not getting treatment results in a lot of misery.

Having to deal with such a problem in private has been known to cause mental health issues, including but not limited to:

  • Stress
  • Anxiety
  • Depression

Not to mention just how much your sexual life will be affected. Severe penile curvature can even cause an inability to have sex and that can frustrate a man.

What Causes Penile Deformity?

Now that we have identified the problem let us take a look at what causes it. Such a deformity is not something you are born with. In some cases, however, you can get a curved penis as it grows but without any pain.

The two most common causes are as follows:

  • Vigorous sex
  • Disease

It is okay to be as experimental as you like when in the bedroom. However, make sure to watch just how far you take it. Trying out those cool positions you see is okay. The moment you are having vigorous sex, however, and you happen to have the penis bent or be under too much pressure from the pubic bone of your partner, it may mark a start to your problems.

The second cause is a disease and the most common one is Peyronie’s disease which is also referred to as plaques. Here you have scar tissues forming beneath the skin of your penis. The problem is that the scar tissue is rigid and is also not flexible. The fact that they are incapable of expanding like normal erectile tissue causes the penis to curve.

Is It Painful During Sex?

As a man, there couldn’t possibly be anything worse than having to feel pain during what is supposed to be your most pleasurable moment. The fear of underperformance would not even let you be bold enough to try. For some men, sex even with penile deformity is not painful in any way. For others, however, it is a completely different story.

The main cause of worry for each individual would have to be that it may cause erectile dysfunction. This is what warrants the need to get treatment as soon as possible.

How do I Know if I Have It?

Being able to tell if you have a problem in its early stages will save you from a lot of pain. The first this you need to be on the lookout for is any form of pain when you are erect or not. You should always be as comfortable as you can when erect or even when during sex. When you are not hard, you shouldn’t be able to feel any pain at all.

In the event that you do, that is your sign that all is not well. In the event that the deformity is caused by disease, the rigid scar tissue may appear on both sides and cause your penis to have an hourglass-like appearance. So your best indicators are pain and curvature.

Available Penis Traction Devices

Now that you know all there is to know about penile deformities, allow me to put a smile on your face as we look at all the available solutions. There are so many penile traction devices that I couldn’t be able to mention all of the available ones.  Don’t worry, I will let you know which ones are the best.

However, what you need to do is get checked by a doctor. Since each case is individual, they are going to recommend which treatment and/or penile traction device best suits you. Getting the right one will guarantee the best, if not fast and efficient results. The device that you choose, or that is chosen for you by your healthcare provider is what will hold the flaccid penis at an angle that is specified for the best results. However, in very severe cases, surgery may be required to straighten the curvature.

How Does The Penile Traction Therapy Work?

Even with the big terms, you are about to see, it is a simple procedure that you can comfortably go through. I guarantee it.

So now, a ring will be placed at the base point of your penis. There will be a shaft inserted through that same ring. The tip of your penis will then be clamped firmly enough into the end of the traction device into a second ring.

Afterward, the magic happens when the extension rods that are present between the two pieces give you the chance to stretch your penis gently. This is what ultimately leads to the correction of the shape of your penis.

If you want a more scientific explanation – the answer is mitosis. When you’re wearing a penile traction device, a constant light stretch is applied to your penis.

Due to the stretching, micro-tears start forming in the penile tissue. These tears are invisible to the naked eye and are completely pain-free.

Once the micro-teras form, the body starts to heal those micro gaps by splitting cells. This process is completely natural and is called mitosis. It happens in your body on a daily basis. It’s very similar to healing a wound or growing muscle.

When the body heals or to put it in other words fills those micro-tears, the penis can start changing its shape or become longer. In some cases, it does both at the same time.

That’s it. What is important to note is that just like growing muscle, growing or straightening the penis takes time, patience, and commitment. It could take you around a month to see the first results and around half a year to see satisfactory results.

Penis Traction Devices

A penile traction device is also known as a penis extender. Currently, there are hundreds of penis extenders available for purchase. However, not all of them are quality made, and some break just after several uses. Here are some penile traction therapy devices that could actually help you.

Quick Extender Pro

From my personal experience, the best penis extender is Quick Extender Pro. It has a unique double star technology which makes it super comfortable to wear. Also, it is one of the few Class 1 CE certified which means it qualifies as a medical device. You can read more about it in my detailed review.

Andropeyronie

Another quality extender that works well with curvature is called Andropeyronie. It’s an extender, designed especially for people who suffer from Peyronie’s disease. They have a lot of experience and clinical data behind their devices. Andropeyronie promises to straighten the curvature up to 60%. You can read more about this device here.

Does Penile Traction Therapy Work?

If there is not a thing that you need to do is make sure you have commitment. It is not an easy journey and you are going to have to want to see results bad enough! If we are, to be frank, nothing worthwhile comes easy. You will need to strictly follow the laid-up plan that your healthcare provider gives you.

In most cases, it will involve you wearing the device for at least half an hour a day for up to 6hrs of the total 24hrs.

Now I couldn’t have made you read through all that for something that does not work. Research has shown that with total commitment penis traction works without a doubt. How badly you want it to has a lot to do with it.

It is important to notice that penis deformity, whether caused by vigorous sex or disease can happen to anyone. In as much as you might be ashamed to come out and seek help, keep in mind that the help is readily available. Penile traction therapy awaits you!
